Sunderland boss Gus Poyet says he will wait until after Saturday's game with Burnley before making a final decision on any further transfer business.

Poyet claims it is unlikely that he will add to his squad at the Stadium of Light following the arrival of striker Jermain Defoe from Toronto FC.

Asked if he expected any business before Monday evening, he said: "If it is not something incredible or surprising then no but you never know in the transfer window what can happen.

"It looks to me that everything is on standby depending on the weekend and then Sunday and Monday will be  a nightmare. Defoe was the one we were looking for and that was the first aim.

"Having most of the players back fit I think we have enough of a squad and enough quality, so like I said if there is nothing incredible or a massive offer for any of our players, which are sometimes very difficult not to take, then there is going to be no more."

Sunderland winger Charis Mavrias has been linked with a loan move to Celtic and midfielder Cabral has also been expected to leave the club on loan, but Poyet says the decision about any move would need to be made by all the parties involved.

He added: "At the moment no but it is a possibilty because it is important for them to play football because time goes past and if you don't play it is tough.

"The idea is that they need to restart their career so it is important and a big decision and those decisions they are not only mine or the club they are also the players and we need to be all in agreement."
