Gary Madine has revealed he wants to stay at Coventry as he waits to resolve his future at Sheffield Wednesday.

The striker played the last game of his loan spell on Saturday as the Sky Blues drew 0-0 at Yeovil. His loan does not officially expire until Friday and he is waiting to talk to the Owls to discover if he has a future at Hillsborough but is eager to remain at the Ricoh. "Yes, I'm really enjoying my football and the gaffer has expressed how much he wants to keep me," he told the Coventry Telegraph. "The men upstairs, Steve Waggott and Tim Fisher, have said they want me to stay. "I'd like to be higher up the league so I want us to be pushing that way, but I'm playing football. "It's out of my hands at the minute and have to see if Sheffield Wednesday want me back in their plans, so I'll be training as normal until Friday and see what happens this week." Madine has scored four goals in 13 games for the Sky Blues and, while his contract at Wednesday expires at the end of the season, he does have other interest. "I've heard a few things but I try to stay out of the way because you can end up getting a bit excited and nothing coming off," he said. "So I just tell my agent to leave me out of it, do what he has to do and when it's laid on the table we'll do it."
