Jabo Ibehre remains on Oldham's radar after Colchester told the striker he can leave the U's.

Ibehre, 31, spent three months on loan with Latics but said farewell to them earlier this month when his deal ended after his goal-scoring performance against Doncaster. Oldham are keen to add attacking reinforcements and Ibehre's name remains near the top of their list of potential recruits. "I've discussed it; there's not too many about in Jabo's bracket," said Johnson. "I like Jabo. I think he's a good professional." U's boss Tony Humes had revealed at the weekend they were keen to strike a deal with Oldham to allow Ibehre to return to the club. And while Humes said that move appeared dead in the water, Johnson revealed he would consider bringing him back to SportsDirect.com Park. The Latics boss added: "If the opportunity arose for him to come into our club, and obviously he's a Colchester player at the moment, then of course I'd look at it because I enjoyed working with him."
