Rotherham have further boosted their squad with the capture of Huddersfield pair Danny Ward and Adam Hammill.

Ward, 24, joins on an emergency loan which will become permanent on Monday, while fellow winger Hammill, 26, arrives on loan until the end of the season.

Both men trained with their new team-mates on Friday and will be involved in the Millers' squad at Brentford on Saturday.

Boss Steve Evans said of Hammill: "Adam is a young man who can play in a wide area or centrally off a striker.

"The lad has fantastic pace, he can go past players and has always been exciting to watch as I've watched him from a distance over the last three seasons.

"I must admit I was a little surprised that he was allowed to come out of Huddersfield Town but at the same time delighted that we got the opportunity to take him.

"Adam joins us until the end of the season but then there's obviously an option for us to make it a permanent deal as the weeks of the season go by.

"I am grateful to Chris Powell and Ross Wilson up at Huddersfield for acting in a professional, courteous and expedient manner which allowed us to have the lad training with the group."

The Scot added of Ward: "Young Danny Ward is an exciting player.

"He can play wide, up as a striker or indeed as a No 10. He has good ability, excellent movement and he was one of the players who was instrumental in Huddersfield playing well.

"We are delighted to have him here and we look forward to seeing him in action."

Both players have commanded fees of over a million pounds in their careers and their arrival at New York Stadium takes the number of players Evans has recruited since the summer to 24.
