On-loan Ipswich midfielder Jonny Williams has returned to parent club Crystal Palace for treatment on a groin injury.
The Wales international, 21, sustained the problem during the 1-0 win over Watford at Portman Road on November 8.
Williams, who was due to stay at Portman Road until January, has been ruled out for around a month and has gone back to the Eagles.
Town boss Mick McCarthy told the club's official website: "Jonny is going back to Palace to do his rehab there.
"He's going to be out for another three weeks or so and they want to look after him. I'd do the same if I was them. Whether we see him back here or not, I just don't know at this stage."
