Oxford land Watford rookie

Image: Michael Appleton: Adds attacking depth

Oxford United have completed the signing of teenage striker Alex Jakubiak from Watford on loan until January.

The 17-year-old made his Hornets debut in the last game of last season, having spent the last half of the campaign on loan at Conference outfit Braintree Town where he scored his first senior goal. Jakubiak told the club website "This is a really good move for me. Oxford are an exciting club that play football the right way and I feel that I can help them achieve something this season." United head coach Michael Appleton added: "Alex brings us some depth to our attacking options and will compete for the positions up top. He is fast and direct and fits in to what we're trying to build here. I'd like to thank Watford for allowing him to join us until January."
