Transfer news: Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus' agent admits interest

MARCO REUS: If the club are to retain their Champions League spot, they need to make a statement. This £40m man would supply the exclamation mark, too.

Marco Reus' agent has revealed that most of Europe's top clubs are looking at the Borussia Dortmund star.

Reus has three years left on his current deal with Dortmund, but that deal includes a clause which means he can move for €35million (£27.7m) next summer.

Dortmund are desperate to keep hold of the player, who returned to their ranks from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2012. Reus is currently recovering from an ankle injury which kept him of Germany's World Cup-winning campaign in Brazil.

Marco would improve any of Europe's top clubs so it is only natural that many of these clubs are making moves for him.

The 25-year-old's agent Dirk Hebel told Bild: "Marco would improve any of Europe's top clubs so it is only natural that many of these clubs are making moves for him.

"However, all he would like right now is to get completely fit again and return to action even stronger than before. Everything else is currently on the backburner."

Reus' situation has also seen Bayern Munich chief exeuctive chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge comment, and he said: "We know that Marco Reus' get-out clause is only valid from 2015 - only then may he leave the club."

Bayern have raised Dortmund for their top players in recent years with Mario Gotze and most recently Robert Lewandowski making the move and Rummenigge's have angered their rivals.

"I don't know what motivates him to show so much concern for Dortmund," Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke said.

Watzke insists that Reus is more than happy at Dortmund and continued: "Marco is a boy from Dortmund. His feet are on the ground and his heart is in the right place. Despite his success, he decided himself to stay.

"We hope that he becomes an icon in his hometown and that he can look back on many unforgettable moments and titles here at the end of his career. He is a world-class player. He is quick, a real goal-threat and possesses great skills. Plus Marco is a leader."
