Preston have confirmed that midfielder Alan Browne has signed a new two-year contract with the club.

Browne made the breakthrough into the Lilywhites' first team towards the end of last season after arriving from Irish side Cork in January. The 19-year-old scored one goal in nine appearances and impressed Simon Grayson enough to earn a deal until the summer of 2016. He told the club's official website: "I am over the moon. I couldn't have asked for much more. The past six months went brilliantly for me and hopefully I can kick on. "Getting in to the team towards the end of the season and getting to play in the play-offs, the manager has shown massive belief in me and helped my confidence a lot."
