Sao Paulo president Carlos Miguel Aidar has said that he is “confident” of agreeing a deal to sign Kaka on loan from Orlando City.
The 32-year-old Brazil international is set to leave AC Milan and move to MLS outfit Orlando City this summer.
However, with the Florida-based outfit not making their debut in Major League Soccer until next year, there have been reports that he will join a team on loan for the first half of the 2014/15 campaign.
Brazilian club Sao Paulo are interested in signing the former Real Madrid midfielder, and their president is optimistic about recruiting the 2007 Ballon d'Or winner.
"We are confident, let’s wait," he told ESPN Brazil.
However, Sao Paulo’s vice-president Ataide Gil Guerreiro has been less forthcoming about the loan signing of Kaka, claiming that City are “demanding” more money for Kaka than they have offered.
"We made an offer, they demanded more money, but we won’t give them," he said. "If they don’t accept our offer, Kaka won’t come.
"I think they will wait until the end of Friday to response, as they are surely in talks with other clubs too."
