Rotherham United are hoping win the race to land Tom Hitchcock, who finished last season with the club.

Hitchcock has been released by Queens Park Rangers following their promotion to the Premier League, and now a host of clubs are looking to land the 21-year-old.

Barnsley, Milton Keynes Dons, Chesterfield, Bradford City and Fleetwood Town are also competing to land Hitchcock.

Hitchcock began his career with Blackburn before joining QPR in 2012, but he only ever played in one game for Rangers - although it was an impressive appearance as he scored the winner in the final minute against Ipswich.

Last season he spent time with both Crewe and Rotherham on loan, bagging eight goals in 13 games.
