Wolfsburg general manager Klaus Allofs has ruled out an immediate Premier League move for striker Bas Dost after links with a number of clubs.

Newcastle, Swansea and Southampton are reportedly keen on the 25-year-old despite a frustrating first two years in Germany, where he managed just 12 Bundesliga goals in 41 appearances.

Dost rose to prominence in the Eredivisie with Heerenveen as he hit 45 goals in 66 games to secure his switch to Wolfsburg and feature at Under-21 level for the Netherlands.

The striker has a further three years remaining on his current deal and is reported to have an £8million price tag, but Allofs is confident of keeping him at the Volkswagen Arena after receiving no offers to date.

"It remains to be seen if there is a club really coming up with a bid," he told BILD.

"And it remains to be seen if the respective player is out for a departure. At this point in time I would rule both of those out."
