Reice Charles-Cook has turned down a new deal with Bury and a host of clubs are battling to land him.
Sky Sports understands that clubs from the Premier League, Championship and League One are all seeking to land the 20-year-old.
It remains to be seen whether the former Arsenal professional Charles-Cook is happy to drop back to Under 21 football or whether he could contend for a first-team role in the Championship or League One.
Crystal Palace, Bolton, Ipswich and Middlesbrough are just some of the clubs understood by Sky Sports to be monitoring the situation.
Bury, who have already moved to sign Charles-Cook's replacement in Shwan Jalal, had looked to keep the highly-rated shot-stopper - but it has now been confirmed that he is moving on to pastures new.
His agent Lee Payne of Full Contact told Sky Sports: "Reice decided to move on from Bury.
"He had a good time there, and will always be grateful to David Flitcroft for giving him his Football League debut and for offering him a new contract, but he wants to explore other options.
"A lot of people know how talented Reice is and we now have to decide between us what the next step will be."
