Swansea have agreed terms to sign Portugal striker Nelson Oliveira from Benfica on loan until the end of the season.
The deal will officially go through when the transfer window reopens on January 1.
"I already know quite a bit about Swansea and it was their style of play and the ambience at the club that attracted me. It was an easy decision to make."
Oliveira has barely featured for Benfica, despite coming through the club's academy and signing professional terms in 2009.
He has had loan spells at four clubs, including Spanish side Deportiva La Coruna as well as Portuguese teams Rio Ave and Pacos Ferreira.
"That way I hope to be ready to offer my services to the team that much earlier.
“I want to prepare properly for the challenge. It’s going to be a big challenge because I have a lot of respect for Wilfried Bony and Bafetimbi Gomis.
“I have to earn the right and respect from the manager and my team-mates on the training ground to play. But I’m highly motivated to score goals and help the team.’’
Oliveira has won 14 caps for his country and featured for them at Euro 2012.
Michu is on loan at Napoli for the remainder of the season leaving boss Garry Monk with Bony, Marvin Emnes, Bafetimbi Gomis and Rory Donnelly as his options up front.
