Colchester have signed former Yeovil midfielder Joe Edwards, subject to paperwork.
The 24-year-old, who left Yeovil earlier in the summer, becomes Colchester's fourth summer signing following the arrivals of Richard Brindley, Matthew Briggs and George Elokobi.
Edwards started out at Bristol City and following loan spells at Bath and Stockport joined Yeovil on loan in January 2012.
He returned for a second loan spell with the Glovers and made the move permanent in January 2013. Edwards made a total of 119 appearances for the West Country side.
