Latest under our scout's gaze is Manchester City's John Guidetti - recommended by Sky Sports reader Iain McCoy.

The scout reports...

John Guidetti has long been regarded as one of the best striking prospects ever to emerge from Scandinavia, and hopes remain in Sweden that he will become their latest world-class talent.

Guidetti, who names comes from the fact his grandfather was Italian, spent much of his formative years playing football in Africa as his father worked on a Swedish school project in Kenya.

He was even involved in a local academy Ligi Ndogo, before he returned to Sweden and joined local side Brommapojkarna from where his skill and reputation began to emerge.

And at the age of just 15, he shunned huge interest from half-a-dozen clubs in Serie A to sign for Manchester City - with Sven Goran Eriksson persuading him to move to Lancashire.

Guidetti soon settled in England, during his maiden campaign for the Under-18s he scored 13 in 13, before then scoring a hat-trick on his debut for the reserves.

At this time Sweden also made sure he had committed his international future to them, and after 26 games for their Under-17, U19s and U21s he has scored 16 goals - further underling his talent.

Back on the domestic front, he was given his first taste of first-team football - but this was back at Brommapojkarna as City sent him back home for a loan stint, and he wasted little time in impressing with three goals in seven starts.

The following summer he travelled with City's senior squad on their tour of North America, and he was then handed his debut for the club in their Carlign Cup clash at West Bromwich Albion.

Another loan stint then followed as he was sent to Burnley for a month before returning to City - but he was unable to break into the first-team.

Guidetti's frustration led him to being linked with a move away from the club, and with his contract expiring last summer he held talks with Dutch club FC Twente - who believed they had secured a deal for him.

After extensive talks, he signed a new three-year deal at City - who paid Twente a compensation fee. Soon after re-signing for Man City, he agreed a one-year loan with Feyenoord, a move which has suddenly catapulted him into the headlines.

Guidetti has emerged as one of the in-form strikers in European football with 17 goals in 13 starts for the Rotterdam giants, which has led to other clubs casting an eye over his displays with Bayern Munich confirmed admirers.

So the question is, will he get his chance at City? Well it seems implausible that he won't. Similar in stature to a Wayne Rooney or Carlos Tevez, but more of a predatory player - Guidetti looks made for the English game.

He has wonderful feet, is physically strong, and his finishing can be a joy to behold. Guidetti could very well save the richest club in world football a fortune.

Has come on leaps and bounds this season, his confidence is sky high and surely Man City have already pencilled him in for their squad next term.

If City don't use him, then one thing is certain - he will have his pick of clubs next season in whichever league he wishes.
