Robin Haase is confident he has the game to end Andy Murray's bid for a second Wimbledon title.
The Dutchman has troubled Murray before, beating him in their first meeting in Rotterdam seven years ago and giving him problems in two recent US Open encounters.
They went five sets in New York in 2011 and Haase was close to taking Murray the distance at Flushing Meadows last year before going down in four.
But even the knowledge of losing his last four meetings with the British No 1 has not dimmed Haase's confidence heading in to Thursday's second round match.
"It's tough to beat a guy like Andy in the best-of-five match but if you're getting close, of course you can win," said Haase, who beat Alejandro Falla of Colombia in the first round on Tuesday.
"I was in the fourth set last year and even 4-1 up and then there were two long rallies with some smashes, and one I made mistake and one I didn't hit and he hit a passing shot.
"Then the momentum changed the game. If I could win that fourth set, you never know. It's only one more set.
"I will try to find a weakness. I have proven that I have beaten him once. Maybe it's a long time ago, but still, I beat him. I have also played a few close matches."
