Laura Robson will complete her Australian Open preparations by playing in the Hobart International in January.

The British No 1 was among the field announced by tournament organisers on Wednesday.

Robson, who will play in Auckland the week before, will be making her second visit to the Tasmanian city. In 2013 she lost in the first round to Sloane Stephens.

Australia's former US Open champion Sam Stosur heads the line-up which also includes top-20 star Kirsten Flipkens, who made the Wimbledon semi-finals earlier this year, and Venus Williams.

The Hobart event starts on January 5 with the Australian Open beginning eight days later.

Meanwhile, the ATP Heineken Open, which takes place in Auckland the same week as Hobart, will have world No 3 David Ferrer as its top name.

And organisers of the Sydney International, another of the final warm-up events for the Australian, have added Nicolas Almagro and Simona Halep to their line-up.

The full Sydney field will be announced on Thursday but Juan Martin Del Potro and Agnieszka Radwanska have already confirmed their attendance at the New South Wales venue.
