Murray catches up with the team
Tennis star Andy Murray sat down with Ringside to discuss his career and offer up his take on recent events in the boxing world. Here's what he had to say...
ON HIS SEASON: "It was a good few months at the end of last year. I had obviously Wimbledon, then the Olympics and then the US Open a few months later, so it was a good, fun few months.
"The Olympics was massive for me because I'm never going to get to experience that again, playing in a home Olympics. With the Grand Slams, it was something that I'd wanted to do since I came on the tour.
"When I finally won a Grand Slam, it was more personal triumph whereas the Olympics was a bit different. It felt like you were doing it for your country."
ON RICKY BURNS: "I'll try and watch Ricky Burns. I always find some stream online - I'm not sure whether it's legal or not! I know Alex Arthur well - he's come to watch me a few times so I always message him and stay in touch with him.
"Alex fought Ricky when he was younger and he said to me that he thought Ricky could go on to be a world champion. He's got better and better and the fights are going to get bigger and bigger.
"I watched Adrian Broner when I was over in the States and there was talk of Ricky maybe fighting him, which would be good.
"I've watched a few bits on the Sky Sports website and saw when you (Johnny) went over to train with Mikkel Kessler. Your microphone wasn't lying - you were breathing so loud on there with that sled on your back!"
ON DAVID HAYE: "I think it's good news. I know him relatively well. I met him a few times and he's a fun character to follow. He's very exciting to watch. I was there when he fought Dereck Chisora. It'll be interesting to see how he does on his comeback.
"I asked him who he was going to be fighting a few weeks ago and he told me someone completely different to the person who he is fighting. I don't know whether he doesn't trust me or what!
"I get Boxing Monthly delivered to my house every month but when I get home I know everything that's happened because of the internet."
