Andy Murray, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic were the big winners on Thursday at the French Open.

Murray has set up an intriguing clash against Nick Kyrgios after requiring four sets to defeat world No 44 Joao Sousa. He was interviewed afterwards by Fabrice Santoro in full traditional Scottish attire, including a kilt...

Novak Djokovic strained his groin but still eliminated Gilles Muller in straight sets to progress into a tie against Thanasi Kokkinakis, the exciting Australian teenager who beat his compatriot Bernard Tomic.

Nadal was similarly impressive, dominating his Spanish compatriot Nicolas Almagro over three sets - but Kei Nishikori enjoyed an even easier day at Roland Garros.

The Japanese fifth seed reached the French Open fourth round when his scheduled last-32 opponent Benjamin Becker withdrew with a shoulder injury.

US Open runner-up Nishikori beat Brazil's Thomaz Bellucci and is yet to drop a set as he looks to better his previous run at Roland Garros, when he also reached the last 16 in 2013 before losing to Rafael Nadal.

He will face either Lukas Rosol of the Czech Republic or Teymuraz Gabashvili of Russia for a place in the quarter-finals.

"Very sorry to hear about Benjamin being injured. I hope he recovers fast," tweeted Nishikori, who also made the fourth round in 2013.

Becker, 33, needed two gruelling five-setters to get to the third round, seeing off Ruben Bemelmans of Belgium and Spanish 32nd seed Fernando Verdasco.
