Andy Murray is in action against Santiago Giraldo at 4pm this afternoon as he looks to stay on course for a third Miami triumph after lifting the title in 2009 and 2012.
Victory against the Colombian would put the British No 1 on 499 career wins and just one away from a landmark half a century.
The 27-year-old would become the ninth active player to record 500 tour-level victories.
World No 4 Murray made short work of Donald Young in his opening match, dismissing the American 6-4 6-2 to reach the third round.
He has a 17-4 record so far this year after reaching his fourth Australian Open final and making the semi-finals in Indian Wells last week - losing on both occasions to world No 1 Novak Djokovic.
Murray, who is chasing his 10th ATP World Tour Masters 1000 title, faces world No 31 Giraldo who overcame Dutchman Robin Haase in three sets to set up a clash against the Scot.
Murray will be watchful of counter-puncher Giraldo though, who relies on his hyper-aggressive forehand, although he can be highly inconsistent.
The clay court specialist did reach last year's Barcelona Open final where he finished as runner-up to Kei Nishikori.
The winner will meet South Africa's Kevin Anderson or Leonardo Mayer from Argentina in the fourth round.
Nadal in action
Other matches of interest today include an all-Spanish clash between Rafael Nadal and Fernando Verdasco.
There's also a battle between two French stars in the form of Gael Monfils and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, plus Stan Wawrinka takes on Adrian Mannarino which Czech ace Tomas Berdych faces Bernard Tomic.
Top women's seed Serena Williams takes on precocious 15-year-old amateur CiCi Bellis in an intriguing clash as big-hitting Sabine Lisicki faces Ana Ivanovic while Sara Errani and Victoria Azarenka are also in action.
