Top seed Bojana Jovanovski made it through to the quarter-finals of the Tashkent Open with a three-set win over Russia's Alla Kudryavtseva.
The Serbian - ranked 35th in the world - won the first set on a tie-break but was pegged back in the second. However, she eventually came through 7-6 (10/8) 3-6 6-3 after two hours and 31 minutes on court.
While Jovanovski progressed, there was a shock for second seed Irina-Camelia Begu as she crashed out to Ukrainian qualifier Lesia Tsurenko 3-6 6-1 7-6 (7/3).
Croatia's Donna Vekic was another seed to fall, going down 6-3 6-3 to Poland's Urszula Radwanska, and sixth seed Misaki Doi lost 4-6 6-3 6-3 to Olga Govortsova of Belarus.
Italian third seed Karin Knapp moved safely through with a 6-2 6-3 win over Aliaksandra Sasnovich while local wild card pair Akgul Amanmuradova and Nigina Abduraimova also progressed.
