World No 7 David Ferrer admits he may not feature at Wimbledon after pulling out of the Topshelf Open on Monday with stomach problems.
Spaniard Ferrer was top seed for the grasscourt tournament in the Netherlands but was forced to withdraw without featuring.
Ferrer, who lost last year's French Open final to Rafael Nadal, also revealed he was struck with flu after this year’s visit to Roland Garros.
The 32-year-old now faces a race against time if he is to feature at Wimbledon, with the third Grand Slam of the year set to start on June 23.
"I'm not sure if I can play at Wimbledon," said Ferrer.
"I'm going to talk with my doctor in Valencia tomorrow and see.
"It's been 10 days now and that's just too long for this problem."
It comes as a major blow to Ferrer, who has featured in the quarter-finals of both major championships to date this year and also made the last eight at Wimbledon in 2013.
