Dustin Brown: Saw off Ivo Karlovic in two tie-breakers

Wildcard Dustin Brown seized his chance to see off Croatia's Ivo Karlovic and move into the second round of the BMW Open in Munich.

World number 87 Brown came through 7-6 (7/4) 7-6 (7/5) in one hour and 26 minutes of a match which predictably went with serve and featured only one break point per player.

Argentina's Federico Delbonis was another winner as he saw off Russian veteran Nikolay Davydenko 6-2 7-6 (7/4) in one hour and 33 minutes.

Australian Marinko Matosevic and Colombian Alejandro Falla were the other first day winners over Michal Przysiezny and Jarkko Nieminen respectively.
