Third seed Gael Monfils of France comfortably moved past Lithuanian qualifier Ricardas Berankis 6-1 6-3 and will take on compatriot Paul-Henri Mathieu in the next round after the 32-year-old qualifier, who knocked out seventh seed Nicolas Mahut on Tuesday, continued to impress with a 6-3 6-2 victory over wildcard Marius Copil of Romania.
