Spain's Guillermo Garcia-Lopez came from behind to beat compatriot Marcel Granollers in the Grand Prix Hassan II final on Sunday.

The number eight seed triumphed 5-7 6-4 6-3 on the Casablanca clay court to earn his third career title.

Both players broke in the first set before fourth seed Granollers notched the crucial break at 6-5 and then served for the set, which he closed out.

But Garcia-Lopez responded in style, racing to a 4-1 lead in the second set before Granollers rallied, winning the next three games to level.

However, Garcia-Lopez broke once more to win the set and continued to dominate, breaking twice in the decider to wrap up the victory in two hours and 37 minutes.

The win was Garcia-Lopez's first title since 2010, earning him $77 315 and 250 Emirates ATP rankings points.
