Poland's Agnieszka Radwanska will face Italy's Flavia Pennetta in Sunday's final of the WTA event at Indian Wells after victories over Romania's Simone Halep and China's Li Na in their respective semi-finals.

Radwanska was first to book her place in the final on the Californian desert hardcourts with a 6-3 6-4 triumph over Halep.

The 25-year-old took the opening set with a single break of serve but found herself trailing in the second when Halep broke.

But the Pole regained control, getting back on level terms then getting a second break and serving out her victory to reach her first final at Indian Wells.

Second semi-final

The late match saw veteran Pennetta atone for her Australian Open exit at the hands of Li to upset the Chinese superstar 7-6 (7/5) 6-3.

The pair combined for eight straight service breaks in the first set, which Li lost with her eighth double-fault.

Pennetta then broke the world No 2 Li two more times in the second and closed out the win with a backhand down the line.

Li, the reigning Australian Open champion, fell to 17-2 on the year. She was the top seed for the first time at one of the top-level WTA events.
