Marin Cilic was a popular winner of the ATP PBZ Zagreb Indoors as he retained his title with a straight-sets victory over top seed Tommy Haas.

The hometown favourite, ranked fifth, won his first title since landing this one a year ago, seeing off Haas 6-4 6-3.

As expected, his huge serve fired, yielding 10 aces, while the 25-year-old also won 80 per cent of the points on his first serve.

Haas initially started better - breaking his opponent in the first game - but the German lost five out of the next six.

The top seed also wasted a break point for a 4-2 lead in the second set, with Cilic then seizing the advantage to establish a 5-3 lead.

While Haas saved a match point, Cilic saw out the win at the second opportunity to take his tally of titles to ten - including four at Zagreb - with this his first since his suspension for failing a drugs test.
