Maria Sharapova cruised into the semi-finals of the Open GDF Suez in Paris with a 6-2 6-2 win over Kirsten Flipkens.
The top seed needed just 70 minutes to defeat Belgium's Flipkens at the Stade Pierre de Coubertin on Friday night.
The Russian broke her opponent's serve five times on the way to an emphatic victory.
In the other quarter-final, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova eliminated fourth seed Angelique Kerber, eventually winning 5-7 6-3 7-6 (7-3) in a two-and-a-half hour match. Pavlyuchenkova's win sets up an all-Russian semi-final with Sharapova
Meanwhile, Alize Cornet of France triumphed over Andrea Petrovic 7-6 (8-6) 5-7 6-3. The world No 25 needed over three hours to defeat the combative Serbian, who had three match points in the second set.
In the last four Cornet will face third seed Sara Errani, who defeated sixth-seeded Ukrainian Elina Svitolina 6-2 6-3.
