Top seed Angelique Kerber overpowered Carla Suarez Navarro of Spain 6-2 6-0 in the semi-finals of the Generali Ladies in Linz to reach her second final of the season.

The victory marked a measure of revenge for Kerber, who lost to Suarez Navarro in the fourth round of the US Open last month.

The German world No 10 broke twice for a 3-2 lead in the opening set and did not concede a game from then on.

In Sunday's final, Kerber will face Serbian two-time former champion Ana Ivanovic, who saw off Stefanie Voegele of Switzerland 6-4 6-4.

Kerber lost to Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic in the Tokyo final two weeks ago, her only other title match of the season.
