Britain's Johanna Konta missed out on a first WTA Tour semi-final after withdrawing from her last-eight clash against Johanna Larsson in the Yinzhou Bank Cup International Women's Tennis Open in Tokyo.

The Sydney-born British No 3 has been in impressive form of late, reaching the quarter-final in Guangzhou last week, and took the first set against her Swedish opponent.

Larsson levelled to take the match to a decider but Konta withdrew with the score at 6-2 3-6.
