Eugenie Bouchard underlined her standing as one of the rising stars in the women's game with a straight-sets win over Jelena Jankovic at the Pan Pacific Open.

The 19-year-old Canadian needed just 70 minutes to oust the sixth seed at Ariake Colosseum, with Bouchard cruising to a 7-5 6-2 victory.

Bouchard crucially broke Jankovic in the 11th game before closing out the first set, while the world No 46 rattled through the second set in impressive fashion

Fourth seed Caroline Wozniacki was barely troubled as she reached the quarter-finals with a 6-1 6-1 win over Magdalena Rybarikova.
