Spain's Feliciano Lopez eased into the second round of the Thailand Open in Bangkok after rallying to a comfortable win against Serbian wildcard Laslo Djere.
The sixth seed won 6-3 6-3 in one hour 10 minutes, breaking once in the first set and twice in the second against the teenager.
His compatriot Daniel Gimeno-Traver was unable to join him in the second round, though, as he went down 6-2 6-4 to Holland's Robin Haase.
Another Dutchman, Igor Sijsling upset seventh seed Jarkko Nieminen from Finland, 6-3 7-6 (2) to progress to the next round.
With the top four seeds granted a bye into the second round, top seed Tomas Berdych and second seed and defending champion Richard Gasquet took to the courts for some practice.
Canada's Milos Raonic, a quarter-finalist last year, is seeded third with Gilles Simon, fresh from his title win over compatriot Jo-Wilfried Tsonga indoors at Metz, the number four seed.
