Novak Djokovic: Could face Andy Murray in the semi-finals of the US Open
Novak Djokovic will be bidding to reach his 14th straight grand slam semi-final when he takes on Mikhail Youzhny at the US Open on Thursday.
The world No 1 has reached at least the last four in each of the last 13 major tournaments, winning five of them and finishing runner-up on four occasions.
He has played Andy Murray in his last three finals but will face him in the semi-finals this time if Murray comes through his meeting with Stanislas Wawrinka.
While Murray has been given an afternoon match on Arthur Ashe Stadium, Djokovic takes on 21st-seeded Russian Youzhny in the prime time slot under the lights.
The only other contest in the night session is an exhibition doubles match between women's legends Chris Evert and Monica Seles and Hollywood actors Jason Biggs and Rainn Wilson.
A doubles match also precedes Murray in the afternoon session, although this time it is the more serious matter of Bob and Mike Bryan attempting to move one step closer to a Grand Slam when they take on Leander Paes and Radek Stepanek for a place in the final.
With Murray and Djokovic's clashes the only two matches in either singles draw on Thursday, the doubles gets a rare share of the limelight.
The other men's semi-final takes place on Louis Armstrong Stadium and pits Ivan Dodig and Marcelo Melo against second seeds Alexander Peya and Bruno Soares.
Their match follows a blockbuster women's quarter-final clash between defending champions and top seeds Roberta Vinci and Sara Errani and 13-time grand slam winners Venus and Serena Williams.
There is also one women's doubles semi-final scheduled for Louis Armstrong as Sania Mirza and Jie Zheng take on Australian duo Ashleigh Barty and Casey Dellacqua.
