Dutchman Thiemo De Bakker will face in-form Fabio Fognini in the second round of the Croatia Open.

Fognini, the third seed in Croatia, has won back-to-back titles in Stuttgart and Hamburg to break into the top 20 for the first time and received a first-round bye.

De Bakker, ranked 108th, defeated Dmitry Tursunov 6-3 6-3 in round one and will attempt to end Fognini's 10-match winning streak.

The only other first round match on Monday saw Argentina's Leonardo Mayer beat Albert Ramos of Spain 6-1 6-3.
