World No 1 Serena Williams ended the hopes of Johanna Larsson who failed to win her own national championship in Bastad, after the Swede was beaten in straight sets.
Williams collected her seventh title of the season thanks to a 6-4 6-1 victory in just 80 minutes against the eighth seed.
Hopes of a home win looked good when Larsson broke the American in the opening game of the match.
And although the world No 76 won three of the day's first four games, Williams took control by winning 11 of the final 13.
The French Open champion fired five aces in the second set and clinched victory on her third match point.
"It was really good to come here and win after a disappointing Wimbledon so hopefully this confidence will help me for the rest of the year," said Williams, who lost in the fourth round at Wimbledon to Sabine Lisicki.
Meanwhile, Larsson said: "At the crucial points I wasn't really present, which was a shame."
The triumph earned Williams her 53rd career title on the WTA Tour, and fifth on clay during 2013 - following victories in Paris, Rome, Madrid and Charleston.
