Karin Knapp overwhelmed German second seed Annika Beck for the loss of just one game to advance to her third semi-final of the season at the WTA Bad Gastein Open on Friday.
The Italian, who has already reached the last four in Slovakia and Colombia this year, crushed the promising youngster 6-0 6-1 at the clay-court even in Austria to avenge her straight sets loss in Nuremberg last month.
The 69th-ranked Knapp avoided break points and converted all five chances to break Beck's serve to set-up a showdown against home favourite Yvonne Meusburger.
Meusburger, who was coming off her second career final in Budapest last week, defeated Holland's Arantxa Rus 6-1 7-6 (1).
The 29-year-old failed to serve out the match at 5-4 before converting her first match point in the tiebreaker.
Meanwhile, Elina Svitolina of Ukraine will take on first-time WTA semi-finalist Andrea Hlavackova of Czech Republic in the other semi-final.
Svitolina beat Austrian Patricia Mayr-Achleitner 6-3 6-0 to reach her second semi this season.
She impressed with six aces and saved all four break points, while Mayr-Achleitner converted just four points in her three service games in the second set.
In the day's other match, Hlavackova beat Austrian wild card Lisa-Maria Moser, 6-3 7-6 (4) despite the match being suspended for 30 minutes because of rain at 5-5 in the second set.
Hlavackova eventually wrapped up the win on her third match point in the tiebreaker.
