WTA Italiacom Open: Roberta Vinci defeats top seed Sara Errani in all-Italian final
Roberta Vinci claimed the Italiacom Open title after a 6-3 3-6 6-3 victory over defending champion Sara Errani.

Errani, who is Vinci's doubles partner as well as an Italian compatriot, came up short in Palermo after a contest which lasted 2 hours and 11 minutes.
Second-seeded Vinci was broken in the first game but responded with two breaks of her own before serving out the opening set.
Errani, who won just seven points on her second serve in the whole match, hit back in the second set by racing into a 5-1. She did wobble towards the end of the set but still managed to level the contest.
But Vinci turned the tables again as she surged into a 4-0 lead at the start of the decider and held off a comeback from the world No 6 to seal the ninth WTA crown of here career.
The victory also ends ends Vinci's run of five straight defeats against her close friend, with whom she tops the doubles world rankings.
