Fabio Fognini claimed his first ATP singles title with a come-from-behind triumph over Philipp Kohlschreiber at the Mercedes Cup in Stuttgart.
The fifth seed from Italy won 5-7 6-4 6-4 after breaking decisively for a 4-1 lead in the deciding set.
Fognini, a two-time runner-up last year, broke early in the first set but Kohlschreiber rallied to take the lead.
The world No 31 then moved into a 3-1 lead in the second and although Kohlschreiber saved four set points in the eighth game the Italian served out the set.
Fognini led 4-1 before dropping serve in the third, but held on to became the first Italian champion in Stuttgart.
The winner drives home in a brand-new Mercedes as well as 74,000 euros in prize money.
