Anastasia Rodionova whose defeat ended her team's 34-match winning streak in World Team Tennis
Washington Kastles suffered their first defeat in almost three years on Wednesday evening when the longest winning streak in major US pro sports history came to an end.
The World Team Tennis outfit were beaten by Texas Wild, thus ending a run of 34 straight wins going back to July 22, 2010.
Eugenie Bouchard won the deciding match, in women's singles, beating Anastasia Rodionova 5-2 as the Wild posted a 23-18 match victory.
The defeat came just 24 hours after they had set a new American record, edging past basketball team Los Angeles Lakers.
The Lakers won 33 straight matches during the 1971-72 NBA season.
