Simona Halep and Annika Beck both breezed into the quarter-finals of the Hungarian Grand Prix in Budapest.
However, fellow seeds Johanna Larsson and Maria-Teresa Torro-Flor were both sent crashing out.
Halep is the highest ranked player still remaining in the draw after top two seeds Lucie Safarova and Alize Cornet were defeated on Tuesday.
And the Romanian comfortably booked her place in the last eight courtesy of a 6-1 6-1 hammering of home hope Agnes Bukta.
German fourth seed Beck was also relatively untroubled after seeing off Lucie Hradecka of the Czech Republic 6-3 6-3.
However, fifth seed Larsson went down 3-6 6-4 6-4 against Yvonne Meusburger, while Timea Babos gave the home crowd something to cheer after coming through 1-6 6-4 7-6 (7-4) over seventh-seeded Spaniard Torro-Flor.
