Third seed Simona Halep eased into the second round of the Hungarian Grand Prix with a straight-sets win over Sesil Karatantcheva.

The Romanian, who won her first two WTA titles in June, took a topsy-turvy opening set 6-3 before claiming the second 6-0 to claim victory in under an hour.

It was a good day for the seeded players as they all earned wins in their first-round matches.
