The covers did not come off on on Court Two at Wimbledon
Laura Robson will have to wait until Friday to play her second round match against Mariana Duque-Marino at Wimbledon.
The British No 1 was scheduled to play the Colombian in the final match on Court Two on Thursday, but rain forced a delay.
Steady drizzle began to fall at the All England Club at 3.30pm, although play continued for a further 90 minutes until the covers came on.
The action carried on under the Centre Court roof, but play was abandoned for the day on the outer courts at 7.05pm.
There was speculation that Robson's match would be moved to Centre Court after Novak Djokovic had wrapped up a victory over Bobby Reynolds, but tournament officials ruled that out.
Robson, 19, Tweeted her disappointment about the weather, posting: "Let's hope the weather is a tad better tomorrow!"
Her match has been rescheduled for Friday afternoon when she will open play for the day at 1pm on Centre Court.
It was not only Robson who was affected, with Grigor Dimitrov and Grega Zemlja at a key stage of their match when it was halted.
Bulgarian Dimitrov was about to serve to stay in the match at 9-8 down in a deciding set when the call to vacate the court came.
