Top seed Sara Errani cruised into the final of the Abierto Mexicano Telcel in Acapulco after recording a 6-2 6-1 victory over Alize Cornet.
The French Open finalist was broken three times during the contest but her French opponent, seeded third in the tournament, dropped serve eight times.
Both players went into the match with less than ideal preparation, Cornet enduring an epic three-and-a-half hour quarter-final on Thursday and Errani finishing her last eight contest just before 1am on Friday morning.
And it was Errani who managed to keep her focus the best, completing the win in an hour and 25 minutes as Cornet won just 34 per cent of the points on her serve.
Defending champion Errani, incredibly, only had to hit one second serve in the whole match.
In the other semi-final, second seed Carla Suarez Navarro needed a little over an hour to claim a 6-2 6-1 win against Silvia Soler-Espinosa in an all-Spanish clash.
