Argentina's Paula Ormaechea reached the first WTA final of her career at the Copa Colsanitas but faces top seed Jelena Jankovic in the showpiece.

Ormaechea, the world number 198, defeated Brazilian qualifier Teliana Pereira 7-6 (5) 6-3 in the first semi-final.

But Serbian Jankovic, who is the only seed left standing in a tournament full of upsets, is the red hot favourite to land the title in Bogota, Colombia.

Ranked 24 in the world and the winner 12 career titles, she overcame Italy's Karin Knapp 3-6 6-1 7-6 (2) in a hard-fought contest.

"She was serving unbelievable in the first set," Jankovic said of her opponent Knapp.

"She was really playing very well today. I'm happy I could play better in the second set and turn it around. The third set could have gone either way - I was a little bit nervous but managed to stay composed and finish the match off."

This will be the first competitive meeting between Jankovic and 20-year-old Ormaechea.
