Feliciano Lopez will face Kei Nishikori in the men's final at the US National Indoor Tennis Championships in Memphis.

Fifth seed Nishikori will go into the final the fresher of the two after playing just one set in his semi-final, going 6-4 up before Marinko Matosevic pulled out with a foot injury.

In contrast, Lopez went the distance as he battled his way to a 6-3 3-6 6-3 victory in a clash between two unseeded players.

Lopez served eight aces and saved four of the five break points he faced as the Spaniard completed victory in an hour and 50 minutes.

"He is a great player, he's in very good shape," Lopez said of Nishikori.

"I think it's going to be a tough match, he's very fast-moving all around the court and I have be aggressive and play my best tennis if I want to win."
