Marina Erakovic hopes it will be third time lucky after she battled into the final of the US National Indoor Tennis Championships in Memphis.
The New Zealand ace beat Switzerland's Stefanie Voegele 6-2 6-4 to reach the showpiece, where she will meet Sabine Lisicki, who defeated seventh seed Magdalena Rybarikova 7-5 7-5.
Erakovic converted all four of her break points and fought back from 4-2 down in the second set as she seeks her first tour title.
She finished runner-up in Memphis in 2012, losing in straight sets to Sofia Arvidsson, while she also tasted defeat in the final at Quebec City in 2011, beaten by Barbora Zahlavova Strycova.
Speaking after her triumph over Voegele, Erakovic told the WTA's official website: "I thought today was a pretty tight match. I felt like both of us were nervous at the beginning but I managed to shake off those nerves in the first set and get going.
"The second set was tight, but I managed to get the break back and squeeze out the set, so I'm very happy."
But it will be tough in the final against Lisicki, who was on the verge of losing both sets, before winning the last five games of the first set and the last three games of the second set to advance.
"I think I was fighting very well today," the German said afterwards.
"I was down 2-5 in the first set but kept fighting for every point - I lost in the semi-finals the last time I played here three years ago, so I wanted to do a little bit better this time. That definitely helped me get through this match today."
