Sixth seed Petra Kvitova breezed into the second round of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships with a 6-2 6-1 win over Daniela Hantuchova.
The former Wimbledon champion, who has never lost to Hantuchova, completed the straightforward victory in just an hour and five minutes to set up a clash with Ana Ivanovic in the next round.
Kvitova faced just one break point in the whole match, while her Slovak opponent dropped serve a total of five times.
"I'm not a person who looks at the score - it seems very quick and very easy, but some games were very close. But it was a good match from my side. I'm happy with how I played," Kvitova told the WTA's official website.
All of the seeds in first-round action on Tuesday managed to avoid upsets, Caroline Wozniacki among those who cruised through after a 6-2 6-2 win over Lucie Safarova.
Seventh seed Samantha Stosur also had no trouble seeing off Ekaterina Makarova 6-3 6-1 in an hour and 15 minutes.
No 5 seed Sara Errani was forced to work harder, the Italian battling to a 6-3 4-6 6-4 victory over world No 20 Julia Goerges, who served 10 aces.
Nadia Petrova, Roberta Vinci and Zheng Jie were all victorious in their opening-round matches on Tuesday.
