World number five Li Na has withdrawn from next week's Qatar Open due to the ankle injury she sustained in the Australian Open final.
The Chinese star, 30, picked up the problem after tumbling awkwardly during the course of her three-set loss to Victoria Azarenka in Melbourne last month.
Organisers of the event in Qatar have announced that Hungarian teenager Timea Babos will replace Li in the main draw.
Li becomes the second high-profile withdrawal from the tournament this week with Venus Williams confirming that a back injury would prevent her from playing.
However, a top-quality field still features nine of the world's top 10 women players.
