Jamie Baker: Through to the second qualifying round for the Australian Open

Jamie Baker is through to the second qualifying round for the Australian Open after recording a straight-sets victory over Julio Cesar Campozano.

Campozano is ranked 24 places higher.than the 26-year-old Briton, however Baker put in an assured display - making just one unforced error.

Baker will now face either Matteo Viola in the next round after the 19th seed saw off Matwe Middelkoop in three sets.

British No 4 James Ward is also through to the second round following his victory over Boris Pashanski.

Ward broke the 30-year-old Serbian four times en route to a 6-4 6-3 win in one hour 12 minutes.
