Agnieszka Radwanska got her season off to a perfect start with victory in the final of the ASB Classic in Auckland.
The world number four dropped one set in five matches this week on the way to her 6-4 6-4 triumph over Yanina Wickmayer and a 10th WTA title.
"I couldn't imagine a better start to the year," Radwanska said. "It's the perfect preparation for the Australian Open."
The Pole took early control in the final against Wickmayer when she broke the Belgian's second serve.
Although she dropped her own serve at 4-3 she immediately broke Wickmayer again before serving for the set.
With the Belgian having trouble handling Radwanska's short ball, the Pole made the decisive break in the second set at 3-3.
Wickmayer bravely saved five match points, fighting back from 3-5 and 0-40, but Radwanska eventually came through in an hour and 37 minutes.
